You little bottler! Produce market going strong

05 Nov, 2009 12:11 PM
The Quorn Produce and Craft Market began last year after being started by a Port Pirie woman Camille Mummery who worked a stint with Quorn Health Service.

It has a group of about regular stall holders with visiting producers from Port Augusta and as far away as Wirrrabara.

Local producer Kylie Finlay explained that Ms Mummery thought that the town could do with a produce market.

“She did a lot of the ground work, organising the insurance side of things, before she left,” Ms Finlay said.

She admits the group has struggled a bit since, “but we will get there”.

“I think that the new venue on the main street will help a lot.”

Until now the market has been held at the youth centre, but will move to the Lions Club Hall on Railway Terrace this month.
