She finished first in the University of New South Wales’ spelling competition for South Australia and Northern Territory.
The Year 4 student proudly said the achievement was an easy feat.
“The test was not that hard at all,” she said.
“It was really quite easy.”
Clare said she did not think she would win and did not tell her Mum that she was entering the competition.
“I thought it could be a bit difficult,” she said.
Clare will have another medal to add to her already growing collection of accolades.
“It was exciting to win,” she said.
“I thought at first that it was not real.”
Principal of the college, Dominic Hopps, said he was thrilled at her accomplishment.
“Clare is a hard worker and come to us with a history of outstanding learning,” he said.
The college has also had students achieve high distinctions, distinctions and credits in spelling, writing and science.
They are still waiting on results for the maths and English competitions.
Mr Hopps said he was thrilled with all of the students progress.
“We have had a few students get high accomplishments,” he said.
