Jamestown Comm-unity School has started the 2010 school year with five new teachers.
The five teachers come to Jamestown with different levels of experience but a wealth of knowledge between them.
Lauren Lawson is a Maths, Science and Home Economics teachers, who grew up in Jamestown.
After recently completing university, Ms Lawson taught at John Pirie Secondary School in terms three and four last year, before being offered the job in her home
town.
Alex Cape, who specialises in English, joins Jamestown Community School having taught for six years, including a three-year stint at Clare High School.
Ms Cape is originally from Adelaide and is finding Jamestown fantastic, and says that she’s had a great start to the year.
Teaching the Year 6/7 class this year is Cassie Taylor, who has spent time recently relief teaching both in Jamestown and in Booleroo Centre.
Ms Taylor has lived in Melrose for most of her life and travels from Melrose each day.
Mark King has a six-month contract at Jamestown Community School teaching Maths.
Mr King is used to the country life, being originally from Kimba and having recently taught at Balaklava High School.
Ben Muggleton will be
taking over the Design and Technology workshop this year.
Mr Muggleton is from Streaky Bay, and after university and a term of relief teaching in Adelaide, he is glad to be back in the country.
