Booleroo Centre District School Year 12 home economics students excelled themselves in their last major project for 2009.
The students catered for the Booleroo Centre Lions’ Club annual dinner, which involved planning an amazing menu, preparing and cooking the food, serving their guests very professionally, and of course the inevitable cleaning up afterwards.
School principal Jennie Dicker said she and her husband were very fortunate to be invited, and the evening was “fantastic”.
“The menu could have graced any five-star establishment, the actual food was without fault and the presentation and garnishes were worthy of placement in a high-class food magazine,” Mrs Dicker said.
Speaking for the Lions’ Club members and their guests, Jennie Flitton commented on how professional the students were, both in their dress and the way they served the meal.
“The food was fabulous, the only problem had been what to choose from the tempting menu choices,” she said.
Home Economics teacher, Janet Arbon, said the Year 12s had worked hard all the year, and they should be very proud of the high quality of work they had produced.
The class consisted of Kylie Blieschke, Melissa Brown, Sasha Clarke, Nicole Christophersen, Tom George, Jamie-lee Hannigan, Sam Reichstein, Ellie Robinson, Katelan Spaeth, Barbara Zanker.
President of the Lions Club, Garry Wauchope, thanked the students and Mrs Arbon for a wonderful meal, beautifully presented and professionally served, and wished the students well in their future careers.
