Masters take medals

On the April 16, seven members of the Northern Areas Seniors Tennis Club arrived in Ceduna to compete at the Ceduna Masters Games.

The games were held over a four day period, and tennis was played on the Saturday and Sunday with beautiful weather conditions.

Ladies singles 65-plus years competitor Jan Jarvis, of Quorn, won gold, and Betty Eckert, of Quorn, won silver.

In the ladies doubles 65-plus years competition Jarvis and Eckert won silver.

Men’s singles 65-plus years player Tom Case of Orroroo won bronze.

In the men’s doubles 65-plus years age bracket Basil Boulton, of Yacka, and Colin Webb, of Port Lincoln, won silver.

Tom Case, of Orroroo, and Harold Eckert, of Quorn, won bronze.

In the mixed doubles, 65-plus years, Jan Jarvis of Quorn, and Tom Case, of Orroroo, won bronze.

Everyone enjoyed their tennis, which was of a high standard, and it was lovely to catch up with old acquaintances.

All competitors agreed that they had a wonderful time, and are looking forward to the next Masters Games.
