The match of the round saw undefeated Crystal Brook take on second placed Southern Flinders in an entertaining clash at Crystal Brook.
The Tigers got off to a great start and led 5-6 to 4-1 at quarter time.
They continued their good form during the second term to lead 9-11 to 6-9 at half time.
Crystal Brook reduced the margin to 17 points at three quarter time before the Brook produced its best footy in the final term.
Crystal Brook rattled on seven goals to two to snatch a hard fought win.Crystal Brook would be happy to get the two points and Southern Flinders would be encouraged by the way it controlled the game for three quarters.
Best for the Brook was onballer Luke Kapitola, youngster Keagan Brinkley (six goals), defenders Jack Cousins and Matt Coates were solid all day and Matt Gale worked hard on his wing.
Best for the Tigers was youngster Lucas Chapman, centreman Matt Woolford (two goals), Garry Hull (four goals), ruckman Quentin Janz and Ben Brown.
Cody Turner, John McKenna and Rhys Stanbridge each kicked two goals.
BMW 15-9 (99) d Jamestown-Peterborough 12-13 (85)
Booleroo Centre was the venue for the clash between cellar dwellers BMW and Jamestown-Peterborough on the weekend.
It was an entertaining game with both sides evenly matched and scores were close all day.
BMW were slightly cleaner with the ball use than Magpies and was probably the difference in the end.
Best for the Lions was centreman Kendrick McCallum who was dominant around the stoppages and is now back in some pretty good form.
Lachie McCallum was solid, Zac Murphy (four goals) from a flank, Casey McCallum in defence and Dylan McCallum on the ball both contributed well.
Best for the Pies was hard working onballer Greg Farr, centre half back Craig Ottoway, Paul Hunter on a half back flank kept Jordan Arthur to two goals, Nick Davis in the middle and Ash McKay at full back kept Dougal Milne to four goals. Shane Heness kicked three goals, Spinny Duke, Ryan Simpson and Bernie Kelly kicked two goals each.
Broughton-Mundoora 18-16 (124) d Orroroo 9-8 (62)
Broughton-Mundoora showed it will again be genuine flag contenders with a dominant 62 point win in the game played at Roo Park.
Orroroo started okay and led by eight points at the first change but it was all one way traffic after that.
The Eagles rattled on seven goals in the second and fourth quarters to record an easy victory.
Best for the Eagles was midfielder Ash Lockwood, winger Ben O’Donohue, midfield/forward Mark Horner (two goals), rovers Aaron Barclay and Nick Hewett.
Young Tom Button kicked five goals from a forward pocket and Matt Gale kicked five from full forward.
Blake Stringer kicked two.
Best for Orroroo were all youngsters with Liam O’Dea getting the nod ahead of Tim Byerlee and Darren Hughes (three goals) after being promoted from senior colts, Brodie O’Dea and ruckman Damien Ellery all tried hard.
