Jamestown-Peterborough 18-8 (116) d BMW 9-3 (57)
Jamestown-Peterbor-ough scored a solid 59-point win over BMW in the match played at Victoria Park.
The Pies got off to a good start and led by three goals at the first break.
They stretched the lead out to five goals during the second term before BMW fought back to reduce the margin to two goals at half time.
The second half was all Magpies, as they slam-med on 11 goals to the Lions four.
Best for the Magpies was headed by youngster Jack Sandland, who kicked two goals from the forward pocket in an eye-catching display.
Scott Mesecke dominated the ruck, Nick Davies was hard at it in the centre, John Arnold used the ball well on his wing and Chris Stacey was all class with four goals.
Zac Noonan kicked four goals (all in the last quarter), Shane Heness kicked four and Ryan Simpson kicked three.
BMW’s best player was once again rover Caleb Girdham. who is having a very consistent season.
Jordan Arthur found plenty of the ball along with veteran Cameron McCallum, who battled hard all day.
Nick McCallum and William Heaslip were others to make the list. Simon George and Lachie McCallum each kicked two goals.
Orroroo 19-11 (125) d Broughton-Mundoora 17-12 (114)
Orroroo had to come from behind to defeat a hard working Eagles outfit in a high class match played at Mundoora.
The Eagles held a narrow lead for most of the match and led by five points at the final change before the Roos powered home to win by 11 points.
Best for Orroroo was youngster Liam O’Dea (two goals) in a classy display. Matt Dignan (five goals) was a real target up forward, Byerlee (four goals) was once again excellent. Damien Ellery in the ruck and Cracker Nutt in defence were others to make the list. Brodie O’Dea kicked three goals.
For the Eagles, Andrew Wilson played his typical hard-working game, Aaron Barclay was good in and under, while Chris Button, Justin Tiller and Lee O’Donohue all worked hard.
Brad Mercer and Mark Horner each kicked four goals.
Matt Gale and Aaron Barclay kicked three each and Andrew Wilson kicked two.
Crystal Brook 18-16 (124) d Southern Flinders 13-2 (80)
Crystal Brook is still undefeated after fighting off a determined Southern Flinders in the match played at Wirrabara.
The Tigers were very good for the first three quarters and only trailed by 16 points at the final change but the Roosters found another gear to dominate the final term and run away 44-point winners. It seems to be that when Crystal Brook are challenged, they take their game to another level and the other sides are unable to go with them at the moment.
Best for the Roosters were hard-working on-baller Luke Kapitola, half back flanker Matt Jackman, Matt Gulin, Matt Arbon (three goals) and centre half forward James Wardle (two goals).
Full forward Jamie Kemp kicked eight goals.
Best for the Tigers was winger Jeremy Edson, centreman Matt Woolford, defenders Nathan Cunningham, Rhys Millington and Dylan Hanson. Rhys Stanbridge kicked three goals, Garry Hull and Brett Ballantyne each kicked two.
