‘Tiger’ Woodman was the best on the day to win the Flavel’s Hardware Trophy with a 70 Nett.
Chris obviously mastered the slick putting surfaces to keep it all together over the 18 holes and set the CCR at 71.
Grade winners were Jarrod Malycha 73, Jeff Oakley 73 and Mick Mason 75.
Mick’s round included a ten and a couple of nines, but in between he showed how strong he is with some massive drives from the tee.
However, the trees played a big part in Mick’s over-all score, seeming to attract most of his subsequent shots.
Nearest the pins were Ashley Sutton on the fifth, and a very near hole-in-one by Percy Mercer on the 14th, leaving absolutely no room for anyone else to get between the marker and the hole.

A very determined field ventured into the early fog to play a Stableford round after Social convenor Darryl was pressed into a game and managed to struggle through the 18 holes with the application of some liniment at the half-way mark.
In the fading light, Ashley Sutton managed to make a couple of putts and win the day with 38 points.
Brian Stevens was next with 33.
Next week’s Saturday competition will be at Jamestown in the second round of the Jim Davis Memorial Shield between Orroroo, Peterborough and Jamestown.
While Jamestown has a narrow lead and will have the home ground advantage, both Orroroo and Peterborough clubs have pledged and all out assault to try to level the progressive tally.
Players should be at Jamestown ready for an 11.30am hit-off.
