Artist Heather Parker opened the door to her Peterborough studio as part of the town’s Art and Cultural Festival.
The studio opening offered festival-goers and art lovers a rare glimpse inside Mrs Parker’s private work space, and also offered the opportunity to admire her work.
Mrs Parker, and husband Des, who is also an artist, moved permanently to Peterborough 13 years ago.
She was involved in establishing the Peterborough Art Prize exhibition and she and Des have since served as judges for the exhibition on a rotational basis along with other judges.
Mrs Parker’s passion for art developed at a young age, and from school she went into teachers’ college.
She worked as an art teacher in Adelaide schools and later operated a studio in the Adelaide Hills.
After living in Peterborough for more than a decade, Mrs Parker said she noticed changes in the town.
“The town is progressing,” she said.
The Art and Cultural Festival ended on Monday.
