Rocky River Ag Services is a fully accredited Case IH farm machinery company based in Crystal Brook, SA. The business service the main grain growing area of South Australia’s mid north. The business was developed in 1994 and has become recognised as one of Australia’s largest single outlet Case dealerships. As well as the full range of Case IH machinery, the business also sell and service Hardi boomsprays, Simplicity airseeders, Flexicoil tillage and seeding equipment, Merlo telehandlers, Grainline augers, the Horwood Bagshaw range and Trimble GPS & electronic equipment. The parts department of Rocky River Ag Services is exceedingly successful, high performing with a very large turnover that forms an integral part of the business.
We are looking for Precision & Guidance Agriculture Specialist to join us in our office. Precision & Guidance Agriculture Specialist will have influence over the technology platform of the business and will need to remain abreast of developments in technology, so as to be able to give advice to the personnel as to future direction.

Salary: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

About you:
You have exceptional engineering skills with a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
Principle accountabilities and duties:   
•    Researching, determining, developing, installing, testing, maintaining and supervising agriculture engineering work related to agricultural machines and equipment used in agricultural plant and farm.
•    Determine layouts and supervise installation of equipment and instruments used to automate agricultural operations.
•    Research and analyse specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
•    Assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification.
•    Establish or coordinate the maintenance or safety procedures, service schedule, or supply of materials required to maintain machines or equipment in the prescribed condition.
•    Study industrial processes to maximize the efficiency of equipment applications.
•    Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, installation, setup and provide technical information.
•    Recommend and implement modifications to eliminate machine and system malfunctions.
•    System upgradation, firmware/Software upgradation, Installation and setup of GPS Receivers, Navigation Controllers, Display consoles, Modem on Agriculture machineries. Implementation of new systems or system upgrade son old machineries with Automatic steering systems, rate controls and advance guiding systems.
•    Calibration of automatic steering systems, entering the precise machinery measurement in software’s for optimum performance of farm machinery on fields, monitors and evaluate the performance of machinery into actual farms, fine tuning, identifying the issues, and recommending the strategies to the farmers for overall hardware, software and operation of complete systems.
•    Update systems with Auto- Pilot Steering system on Articulated tractors, old machinery calibration, replacement and installation of Motorised steering system, troubleshooting of Automated steering system by roll calibration, accurate automated turning setup, turn aggressiveness and advance line acquisition on farm.
•    Read and interpret technical data, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
•    Finding faults on hydraulic motors, sensors, and other electronic/electrical/telecommunication/mechanical devices for proper functioning.
•    Selection of Proper GPS network, correction service like (RTK,RTX, Autonomous, apply correct licences for the service opted for, Check the networks, Modem protocols for connectivity issues. Monitor and maintain the Radio/Mobile tower network over the system, provide the technical support, status of the tower to the network.
•    Provide the farm mapping service to the Clients/ Farmers with Scout, Nav 900 Controller, and GPS system, Drawing AB lines, defining farm boundaries, headlands, swath management service and provide the data to the farmers.
•    Contact the users/ farmers to identify the actual issues during the farming operations and rectify up to satisfaction. Install the hardware, layout the plans for harness for clean installation, install applicable version for hardware and software, for optimal performance.
•    Provide AFS data management service, transfer of farm data from Display Console to AFS software, convert farm data via AFS software for cross farming machinery compatibility. Troubleshoot the farm data, correct/redefine the farm boundary, clear the old farm job data from the farming machinery by transferring to the Desktop software and re-install the data. Assist farmers for managing / Maintaining the farm data, provide onsite/ technical support related to software, machine configuration and advance setup on farm machinery.
•    Supervision of workers, technicians, farmers and other engineers and provide them technical training, supporting how to use the new hardware and software systems, parameter setup on display.


Technical Knowledge and people skills:
A relevant degree level qualification is required for this role. Experience of electronics/ Electrical troubleshooting on Machineries, Knowledge of System installation, software/ firmware upgrade on Electronics board is expected. You should have a robust autonomous background and the ability to self-manage time and tasks. You will also have: 
•    Technical Qualification – Bachelor's degree
•    At least three years of post-qualification relevant experience, experience in agricultural engineering industry is preferred
•    Technical knowledge of Installation of GPS receiver/ Radio Receiver, Hydraulic systems, Electronics service tools, RV55 Modem setup, configuration on Tractors and Harvesters, Configuration of Navigation Controller, Automatic Steering System, Software upgradation on Display Console for Farm Equipment, EST (Electronics Service Tool) for fault finding on Farm Machinery, Experience of troubleshooting on ISOBUS network, CAN protocol for farm Machinery is expected.
