Snow in Jamestown, 1981.

Port Pirie resident, Errol Shepherd, dropped by the Flinders News office today to share with us some stunning photos he took of snowfall in 1981.

These photos were captured in Jamestown on June 23, 1981. Errol remembers there being at least six inches of snow.

Errol submitted the photos to the local Jamestown-Peterborough paper, the Review-Times-Record for a ‘Snap the Snow competition’.

The Review-Times-Record would later merge with other papers and become the Flinders News.

Errol managed to take out a prize for two of these photos, which were then published in the paper on July 16, 1981.
