An 82-year old man from Queensland has lost his license for a year after he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.165 on Friday 10 November.
At 11pm on Friday night, police received a number of complaints on UHF Channel 40 about a car towing a trailer driving erratically heading south on the Augusta Highway, towards Snowtown.
Police were able to locate and stop the vehicle, yet the car rolled at a slow speed and collided with the police car, causing minimal damage.
The man was arrested and bailed to appear in the Clare Magistrates Court, charged with aggravated driving without due care, failing to drive in marked lanes and drink driving.
Police wish to thank the members of the public who reported the unsafe driving.
