Port Broughton will come alive on the weekend for all things festive at the town’s Christmas Festival.
Come see the Christmas tree display from Friday, December 8 until Sunday, December 10.
Around 23 trees have been set up in the Town Hall ready for the Christmas tree party on Saturday, December 9 from 4-9pm. The Christmas evening pageant will take place on December 9 at 6pm.
Come down to see Santa and local floats meander down the street, starting at the new start/finish line on the corner of West Terrace and James Street.
Head to the Town Hall straight after the pageant for the Christmas tree party and to explore Santa’s Cave which will be open from Saturday, December 9 until Wednesday, December 13.
Santa’s Cave features blow up Christmas displays and a chance for the children to meet Santa.
The Christmas Street Party will also take place on Saturday, December 9 from 4.30pm with food, live music, an outdoor cinema and other entertainment, outside the Town Hall on Mackay Street.
“It’s the first time we’ve tried the festival in the street, so we hope it does well,” said Ben from the Port Broughton Progress Association.
The festival will feature live music from the Adelaide Caledonian pipe band, the Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta brass band and local duet Makin’ Tracks. For the kids there will be big jumping castles, electric ride-on animals and an outdoor showing of the movie Arthur Christmas at 8.30pm next to the Chemist.
Bring along a beanbag, blanket or low seat and enjoy the outdoor cinema experience with family and friends.
