The 2018 Yunta Picnic Races and Gymkhana will be held on Saturday, April 28 – and Yunta Racing Club committee members are heartened by the extent of ongoing support and encouragement for this major annual event.

As with any major event, the first jobs are to collect sponsorship and promote the date – in the hope of encouraging a large number of both competitors and spectators.

Sponsors are well-acknowledged before, during and after race day and are invited to display promotional signage/banners or host a trade display on the day to boost patronage.

The usual exciting program of flat races and gymkhana events will be boosted with numerous novelty events and trade displays for the spectators to enjoy.

The day concludes with a roast tea and evening entertainment – and the free camping is appreciated by many.

The Yunta Racing Club Committee continues to annually support the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the local SA Ambulance Service, Yunta’s Royal Flying Doctor Service clinic, cancer research, RICE (Remote & Isolated Children’s Exercise) and this year, donated $4000 to upgrade the Yunta’s Children’s Swimming Pool.

The Yunta Racing Club committee will keep you informed throughout our planning progress and they hope that you might consider attending this great day of; competitive riding, fun novelty events, interesting trade displays and sales, an South Australia Arid Lands NRM information site, lots of joviality – and great tucker!
