Man arrested for theft of petrol in Cockburn

A 36-year-old man from Davoren Park will face court after allegedly stealing petrol over the weekend.

At 9.35 am on Sunday August 26, police received a report that a man had driven off from a Yunta service station without paying for petrol.

Police stopped the man just before crossing the border towards Broken Hill.

A knife was allegedly located in the man’s car and following further investigations, the man was charged with two more thefts of petrol from Dry Creek and Port Pirie.

The man was charged with three counts of making off without payment and carrying an offensive weapon.

He was bailed to appear in the Peterborough Magistrates court on August 10.
