Brilliant Brookies

Crystal Brook stormed home to secure its place in the 2018 Northern Areas Football Association A Grade grand final after a 59-point victory over Orroroo.

The Roosters got off to a slow start in the first quarter as the Roos managed to keep its nose in front by nine points.

It was in the second quarter where that Rooster brilliance was on display as the red-and-whites started to add to scoreboard while the Roos’ scoring opportunities were limited.

The Roosters added five goals to the board in the second quarter while the Roos managed just a goal.

Coming into the third quarter with 18-point lead, Crystal Brook continued to pile the pressure on Orroroo as well as adding considerably to Saturday’s goal tally.

The Roosters were in fine form in front of goals and booted seven in the third, with the Roos scoring just a point.

Now in front by 63 points, the Roosters had well and truly stitched up their spot in the grand final.

The red-and-whites added two more goals to the board in the fourth while the Roos added three.

Crystal Brook’s star forward Daniel Hill was in superb form and booted six goals while Jackson Richman picked up best player honours.

For Orroroo, Denis Redden and Brodie O’Dea kicked two each. Aiden Lee topped the Roos’ best players list.

The Roos now play-off with Broughton-Mundoora for the last grand final spot.
