Christmas closure dates for council

Port Pirie Regional Council wishes to advise the community of its closure dates over the Christmas and New Year break. General Council operations will cease Close of Business on Friday, December 21 and re-open on Wednesday, January 2.

However, over this period the Tourism and Arts Visitor Information Centre will only be closed on Christmas Day, the Port Pirie and Crystal Brook Waste Transfer Stations will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Households who receive kerbside waste collection and recycling on the Tuesday will have their collection delayed by a day and it will be collected on the Wednesday being December 26. New Year’s Day waste collection will not change and will be picked up on Tuesday, January 1.

Port Pirie Regional Library will be open until Sunday, December 23 from 1pm – 5pm and then reopening on Wednesday, January 2. Crystal Brook Library will be closed from 5pm Friday, December 21 and reopening on Wednesday, January 2. For a full list of council office closures, hours and services, please visit the website Port Pirie Regional Council thanks all residents for their support in 2018 and looks forward to working with the community again in 2019.
