The Lions Club of Booleroo Centre will install state-of-the-art kitchen equipment in a new catering van with funding of $2625 from the federal government.
Grey MP Rowan Ramsey said he was happy with the grant.
“The club is famous for its travelling food van which can be seen at many community events and is used in natural emergencies to cater for volunteers,” he said.
“Having modern, well-equipped kitchen facilities will make it easier for members to churn out the great tucker they are known for and will improve safety and convenience for them.
“So often what is a relatively modest amount of money can make a huge difference to volunteer groups.
“Certainly, this funding scheme, the Stronger Communities Program, is a winner in every way, providing valuable help to regional communities.”
The scheme offers grants of between $2500 and $20,000 for small projects.
