Barunga West appoints independent member for audit committee

Barunga West Council has appointed a new independent member to its audit committee to assist them when facing complex financial issues. 

Martin White who is a charted accountant and business valuation and forensic accounting specialist has over 20 years of experience in advising clients. 

The chief executive officer of the council, Andrew Cole believes the additional member will assist council when considering the complex financial issues facing council. 

"Council believes that Martin's wide range of skills will prove beneficial in all areas of Council's activities, particularly long term financial planning," Mr Cole said. 

Mr White also holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice (honours) and a graduate diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. 

He is currently an independent member on the Corporate Governance Committee at the City of Playford, one of the largest councils in the state.
