Some of Southern Flinders' talented Senior Colts will get the chance to rip into A Grade football this year as a batch of young stars climbs the ranks.

Joel Ambjerg-Pedersen, Will Smart, Craig and Joel Zanker and Ben Treasure will join the Tigers' top line-up.

Coach Ben Brown was excited at the opportunity to give young lads a run in A Grade.

"It looks like they will go places," he said of their young A Grade recruits.

Player movements have been steady with the Tigers losing and gaining a handful.

"I expect us to be fairly competitive," Brown said.

"We've got good young lads."

He said the pre-season had been focused on staying positive and building up the relationships and friendships in the squad.

"We need to stay focused and try to get a win or two early," Brown said.

"We have a good mix of old and young which we have had before."

Pulling on the yellow-and-black this season is Willy Serle, a 1000 goal full-forward who has played a lot of country footy.

The Tigers have retained Michael Hobbs, a strong centre-half-back.

A returning face sure to delight Tigers' fans is Mitchell Smith.

A quality wingman, he returns home after a year in Adelaide.

The Tigers have also been able to have Brady Zwar in their line-up. Zwar is on the squad for the SANFL Crows but should be able to fly the Tiger flag during the season when not selected to play in Adelaide.

"I'm very excited about what he's going to do," Brown said of Zwar.

"Good ruckmen can be hard to find."

The line-up will also boast the usual Tiger faithful and familiar surnames - Millington, Palmer, Turner and others.

Departing the Tigers this year are Shane Ballantyne, Jacob Graetz and Scott McIntyre.

The Tigers' first test will come when they play Lions (SGL) at Port Pirie's Memorial Oval on March 30.

Brown said he expected a tough game.

"Lions are always fit and tough," Brown said.
