A Mother's Day Classic held at Melrose capped off a mighty fundraising effort of $11,000 by a small group of friends in the Mid North.
The group of friends created a team - BMW Babes, Family and Friends - to raise money for The National Breast Cancer Foundation through the Mother's Day Classic.
Because they weren't able to get to the event in Adelaide, they decided to organise one of their own.
More than 100 people attended the walk which headed just out of town towards the oval on one of bike tracks and back to Paradise Square where they had for a sausage sizzle for families whilst others headed down the street to Over The Edge for nibbles, champagne or coffee.
Some of the local nurses attend with a few of the residents from the hospital to participate. In The Flinders volunteered to take a resident on the walk in their trail rider.
