BMW claims victory in elimination final | PHOTOS

BMW has kept its premiership hopes alive following a nail-biting victory over Southern Flinders in Saturday's elimination final at Wirrabara.

The Lions were the first to hit the board and did so again minutes later before the Tigers levelled the scoreline to two goals a-piece.

Another two goals saw the Lions back in front with the Lion faithful, which turned Wirrabara into a sea of blue, yellow and red, erupting into thunderous applause.

A one-goal second quarter for each saw the margin unchanged as the Lions went into the long break with a two-goal lead.

The Tigers were able to catch up in the third quarter, kicking two goals to the Lions' one, with the gap now reduced to five-points in the Lions' favour.

The Lions were able to turn up the volume in the final quarter as they added four goals to the board while the Tigers kicked a behind, ending the Tigers' season but keeping hope alive for the Lions.

Bradley Taylor was best in front of goals for BMW and booted six. Taylor also topped the best players list. For Southern Flinders, Joel Ambjerg-Pedersen, Trevor Harradine, Mitchell Smith, Lachlan Pole and Willy Serle kicked one each. Koby Millington was best for the Tigers.

Crystal Brook and Broughton-Mundoora will now play it out in this weekend's qualifying final. The victor progresses to the grand final while the losing side will play BMW in a do-or-die preliminary final.
