Amelia Coe, of Gladstone, was recognised as the state's highest fundraiser in the World's Greatest Shave.
The 14-year-old Jamestown Community School student raised more than $9600, putting her at the top of the list of individuals shaving for the Leukaemia Foundation in South Australia.
Amelia had her head shaved in March and was acknowledged for her efforts later in the year at a dinner in Adelaide.
She was determined to raise money for the cause after a family friend was diagnosed with leukaemia at the start of the year.
Locally, the Mid North rallied around her fundraising work.
Among her fundraising were a dinner held at the Gladstone Bowling Club, with the club allowing the use of their hall free of charge, a raffle, biscuit sales and a girls' day out.
Gladstone High School supported her work and sold cupcakes as well as hold a crazy sock day.
The Lions Club of Rocky River backed the cause to the tune of $500 and Amelia was overwhelmed when the Gladstone Op Shop made a $2000 donation towards her efforts.
YP Ag's Jamestown branch, Ramsey Pharmacy, Hunts Fuel and Gladstone IGA, as well as her aunty Jenny Coe, also made contributions.
Amelia was amazed and grateful for the support shown for her World's Greatest Shave fundraising.
