Wandearah farmer Brodie Seidel has had a successful month in grain judging at shows.

Seidel won all categories in grain judging, wheat, barley, beans and was overall winner at the Crystal Brook Show on August 10.

His big win came at the Royal Adelaide Show and he won the barley grain competition and was overall winner claiming the title of Champion Grain Young Judge.

Jade Saunders, quality services manager with Viterra who sponsor the competition, thought the field of entrants did a good job of classifying the different grains.

"This competition is growing - we started this competition four years ago with 6 or 7 contestants and it has grown to, as we saw today, close to 20," he told the Stock Journal

"The enthusiasm and professionalism of the kids is amazing. They get on board and really understand what we're trying to achieve from this whole program.

"We're trying to highlight the importance of grain and food quality in our Viterra system and we're trying to upskill some of the juniors in the agricultural space."
