Honours were handed out as the Quorn Show marked its centenary on Sunday.
His Excellency Hieu Van Le AC, Governor of South Australia, with show president Brownyn Filsell, presented life memberships to Mary Francis, Peter Sandles, Tanya Paynter and Mark Paynter.
Mr Van Le described Quorn as one of his favourite places in the state when officially opening the event.
"Country shows hold an important place in our local communities," he said.
"Naturally, our hearts go out to those who are currently battling droughts and are drawing down on our resilience.
"Nevertheless, at this challenging time we can reflect that the show enables a focus on community spirit."
Mr Van Le said shows wouldn't exist without volunteers. "They are the soul and lifeline. They give the precious gift of time and dedication," he said.
