Booleroo Centre District School staff member Gayle Bury had her mind set on having a colour run as part of the annual school Cross Country.
The run was scheduled into the Thursday of second to last week of the term, but howling winds and tonnes of dust were predicted to happen on this day, so it was decided to run the event on the last day of term three. Gayle worked closely with the SRC, governing council, the kindy, school staff and members from the community.
Students needed to supply themselves with a white t-shirt that would be bombarded with colour after the completion of a series of events for the different age groups. The kindy kids enjoyed playing on the bouncy castle, primary school students completed an obstacle course, while Year 6 to 12 students completed the traditional Cross Country course set out to the west of the school and around the golf course.
PE teacher Albert Nicholls reported that there were some fantastic results on the day, but more importantly participation rates were up.
Cross Country age group winners were as follows: Boys, Year 6/7: Rydah Cheriton - Rogers. Junior: Alec Whellum - Rogers. Intermediate: Jaxon Kumnick - Dunstan. Open: Paul Webb - Dunstan.
