Horses of World War I, along with all conflicts, were remembered and honoured at this year's Burra RSL Remembrance Day service.
This was a direct relation to the involvement of the Burra Pony Club supplying a number of members, with their saddled but riderless horses.
As proceedings got underway on Monday, more than 200 people heard of the tales of horses, donkeys and mules (and other animals) and the roles they played in various conflicts.
Townspeople and visitors came out for the event with students from Burra Community School also taking part in the day.
Burra RSL president Mike Pinkerton thanked all those in attendance and for taking part in the significant day.
