Inspiration is found in many avenues and some of those eventuate through the influential and motivational work of women.
To honour some of the inspiring women across the state, the 2022 Inspiring South Australian Women's Awards is calling for nominations in the categories of Inspiring SA Women's Award and Emerging Leader's Award.
State Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink said the awards were a way to highlight the amazing work done by women across South Australia.
These women are a real inspiration to both present and future generations of girls, looking up to empowered women of all backgrounds who are leading innovation, change and growth in South Australian's economy and civic life," she said
"We encourage everyone to participate by nominating women that are either emerging leaders in their communities or women working or volunteering in areas including health, education, disability, science and medicine, arts and the media, sport and recreation, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander initiatives and the prevention of violence."
Australia Day Council of South Australia chief executive Jan Chorley said the awards celebrated women who stand up and stand out.
"We do not need to just look as far as the famous faces on television and in newspapers to find them, as they exist in our everyday lives," she said.
"She is the volunteer, the person always there to help us, our friends or family out, she inspires us to be a better version of ourselves.
"The beauty of these awards is that anyone befitting the criteria is eligible."
Nomination is simple and comprises just five easy questions.
The Award is part of the Australia Day awards and honours and is jointly coordinated by the Australia Day Council of South Australia and the Office for Women.
